Job Context
MARRWELL Ltd currently operates across the energy and healthcare sectors, delivering multidisciplinary consultancy and project-based solutions. Within the energy sector, the company provides specialist consultancy services to the oil and gas industry and works closely with upstream organisations, including ENI, to support the planning, development, and delivery of technical projects. In the healthcare sector, MARRWELL Ltd is developing innovative health-related projects aimed at improving access to healthcare services and reducing waiting times within the NHS.
As the scope and technical complexity of our energy and healthcare projects continue to evolve, there is an increasing need to integrate telecommunications, electrical engineering, and digital technologies into our project activities. The effective application of these disciplines is essential to strengthening our technical capabilities, improving data acquisition and communication, and supporting the development of reliable, technology-enabled solutions. To address this growing need and enhance the delivery of multidisciplinary projects, MARRWELL Ltd is seeking to appoint a Project Engineer with expertise in telecommunications and electrical engineering.
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a highly capable and experienced Senior Telecommunications and Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a key position within the business, combining technical engineering expertise with structured project planning, coordination, and delivery across our energy and healthcare projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the development and delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects, while also contributing specialist knowledge in digital communications, signal processing, data analysis, algorithm development, and technical analysis. The role is particularly suited to a professional with strong experience in telecommunications systems, wireless technologies, coding techniques, and software-based engineering development using MATLAB, C/C++, and Python.
In addition, the postholder will contribute to the evaluation and progression of FPGA-oriented implementation approaches for communication and signal-processing algorithms, as well as the application of Machine Learning methods to telecommunications and related engineering challenges.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and support the planning and delivery of telecommunications and multidisciplinary engineering projects from initiation and technical scoping through to implementation and completion.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, technical plans, budgets, progress reports, and engineering documentation to support effective project governance and delivery.
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Undertake engineering reviews, feasibility assessments, technical evaluations, and risk-based analysis to inform project planning and engineering decisions
- Support the design, implementation, testing, and optimisation of digital communication and signal-processing algorithms.
- Contribute technical expertise to projects involving wireless communications, modem assessment, coding techniques, and associated infrastructure.
- Investigate and apply Machine Learning techniques to relevant telecommunications and signal-recognition problems.
- Support the translation of algorithmic solutions into FPGA-oriented or hardware-aware implementation strategies, particularly where real-time performance is required. Monitor project progress against programme, budget, quality, and technical requirements.
- Produce accurate and professional technical reports, status updates, and client-facing deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
- Ensure all engineering and project activities are undertaken in compliance with relevant standards, regulatory expectations, health and safety obligations, company policies, and client specifications.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and on technically challenging and strategically important engineering projects
- A professional and collaborative working culture
- Competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience
- Employees enjoy 28 days’ paid holiday
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion at every level because we believe a diverse workforce benefits us all. We will consider all candidates on the basis of skills, experience, and suitability for the role.
