Salary: £22+ per hour, dependent on experience, plus overtime, company vehicle and benefits
About the Role
Due to continued company growth and an expanding portfolio of projects, we are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our growing Electrical & Instrumentation (EC&I) team.

We are looking for an industrial electrician who is keen to develop their skills and build a long-term career within the UK gas transmission and distribution industry.
Previous experience within the gas industry is not required. Full training, mentoring and ongoing technical development will be provided to the right candidate.
Working alongside experienced EC&I engineers and commissioning teams, you will be involved in the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems on critical gas infrastructure projects for major UK utility clients.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to work across different sites and projects throughout the UK while developing specialist knowledge in electrical, instrumentation and hazardous-area systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install industrial electrical systems in accordance with drawings, specifications and applicable standards.
- Install containment systems including tray, ladder, conduit and trunking.
- Terminate and test power, control and instrumentation cables.
- Install field equipment including motors, actuators, junction boxes and control panels.
- Carry out inspection and testing in accordance with BS 7671.
- Work safely in accordance with company procedures, risk assessments and client standards.
- Complete installation records, test documentation and quality records.
- Support commissioning activities where required.
- Work collaboratively with EC&I engineers, commissioning teams and other site personnel.
- Travel to customer sites throughout the UK, with regular overnight stays.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Previous industrial electrical installation experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Willingness to work away from home Monday–Friday, approximately 80% of the time.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
Desirable – but not essential
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent).
- COMPEX qualification.
- Experience within utilities, water, energy, process or manufacturing industries.
- ECS Gold Card.
- IPAF and PASMA.
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
