Seabreeze is an established and growing provider of high-quality services for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, alongside children's short breaks and holiday provision. We are passionate about delivering person-centred support that enables the people we support to live fulfilling, meaningful lives. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager who understands both people management and the unique demands of working within the health and social care sector.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSC professional to lead and develop all aspects of Human Resources across the organisation and be the forefront of the team supporting the Manager. You will work closely with the senior management team, ensuring our workforce remains supported, motivated and compliant with employment legislation and best practice. The successful candidate will have significant experience working as a senior or above within health and social care and understand the importance of balancing excellent practice with compassionate, person-centred care. Working hours are Monday - Friday 10am-4pm, all year round, with some Saturday availability. The centre is closed bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of managing the staff team with support from the manager

Manage employee relations including disciplinary investigations, grievance procedures, sickness absence management, rotas and performance management.

Support managers through recruitment, onboarding, probationary reviews and staff retention.

Develop and review HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current employment legislation.

Support with writing and reviewing care plans and risk assessments.

Oversee staff wellbeing initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture.

Ensure accurate HR records are maintained and confidentiality is upheld.

Support organisational growth through workforce planning and succession planning.

Work collaboratively with senior leaders to develop effective people strategies.

Promote equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation.

Support compliance by ensuring staffing practices meet regulatory expectations.

Contribute to continuous improvement across both HR and operational services.

About You
We are looking for someone who:

Has substantial senior-level (senior support worker, deputy) experience within the health and social care sector.

Has a good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.

Has experience managing complex employee relations cases.

Understands person-centred care and the values underpinning quality social care services.

Has experience supporting managers within care environments.

Has excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Can build positive relationships while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Is proactive, approachable and able to work independently and lead a team.

Essential Requirements
Previous HR experience within health and social care.

Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Health and Social Care (or equivalent recognised qualification).

Worked as a Senior Support Worker or above in a care organisation

Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence procedures.

Knowledge of safeguarding principles and care sector regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable
Level 3 or above in a HSC qualification

Leadership experiences (5 years+)

Experience working within HSC services (care home, day centre, etc)

Experience supporting organisational change and service development.

Knowledge of safer recruitment practices.
