Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef by overseeing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to develop leadership skills within a vibrant hospitality environment. The successful applicant will possess strong food production, kitchen management, and food safety expertise, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, including chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive team environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
Ensure all dishes meet safety and hygiene regulations in accordance with food safety standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and manage waste control effectively
Support menu development by contributing ideas for new dishes and seasonal offerings
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and culinary techniques
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality establishment is highly desirable
Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service excellence is advantageous
