Full job description

General Manager – Little Dessert Shop (Birmingham)

We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and motivated General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy dessert shop in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of staff.
Delegate daily tasks and responsibilities effectively.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times.
Handle customer complaints, queries, and feedback professionally.
Create and manage staff rotas.
Monitor stock levels and maintain inventory control.
Purchase stock and supplies from designated stores and suppliers as required.
Ensure the shop is fully stocked and operational at all times.
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain smooth daily operations.
Support staff development and maintain a positive working environment.

Requirements

Previous management experience in hospitality, food service, retail, or a similar management role.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
Allergy Awareness Certificate (essential).
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
Ability to purchase and transport stock when required.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to the needs of the business.

Working Hours

This role requires flexibility, with shifts varying between 12:00 PM and 2:00 AM, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and busy trading periods.
