About the Role:

Lisburn has a strong connection to Northern Ireland’s automotive, manufacturing, and business services sectors, and at AutoTech Capital Partners Ltd, we apply a disciplined investment approach to opportunities across the automotive technology and mobility markets. We assess businesses, markets, and investment opportunities with a focus on long-term value creation.

We are looking for a Principal Investment Analyst (m/f/d) who can take ownership of investment research, financial analysis, and opportunity assessment. You aren't just building spreadsheets; you are helping shape investment decisions. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, evaluate potential investments, and translate complex financial and market information into clear recommendations.

You will be a key contributor in identifying opportunities, challenging assumptions, and supporting the investment process from initial research through due diligence and portfolio monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Analysis: Evaluate potential investment opportunities through financial modelling, valuation analysis, market research, and commercial assessment.

Financial Modelling: Build and maintain detailed financial models covering revenue forecasts, operating performance, cash flow, valuation scenarios, and investment returns.

Due Diligence: Support financial and commercial due diligence by reviewing company performance, market conditions, competitive positioning, business plans, and key investment risks.

Market Research: Monitor automotive technology, mobility, manufacturing, software, and related sectors to identify emerging companies, market trends, and potential investment opportunities.

Investment Materials: Prepare investment memoranda, company profiles, valuation summaries, presentations, and analysis for internal investment discussions.

Stakeholder Management: Present analytical findings and investment recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders. You should be comfortable explaining complex financial concepts and defending your assumptions with evidence.

Portfolio Monitoring: Support ongoing analysis of portfolio companies by tracking financial performance, market developments, operating metrics, and key risks.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: 6+ years of experience in investment analysis, private equity, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, or a closely related field, with demonstrated experience taking ownership of complex analytical assignments.

Financial Skills: Strong knowledge of financial modelling, company valuation, financial statement analysis, investment returns, and scenario analysis. Experience with DCF, comparable company analysis, and transaction multiples is highly valued.

Commercial Awareness: You understand how market dynamics, competitive positioning, technology adoption, operating performance, and management quality can influence an investment decision.

Analytical Skills: You are highly detail-oriented and comfortable working with large amounts of financial and market information. You can identify the key drivers behind an investment opportunity rather than simply reporting the numbers.

Communication: You can turn complex analysis into concise, decision-ready recommendations for senior stakeholders, investment partners, and other internal teams.

Tools: Strong Excel and financial modelling skills are essential. Familiarity with PowerPoint, financial databases, business intelligence tools, and data analysis platforms is an advantage.

Mindset: You are commercially curious, intellectually rigorous, and pragmatic. You know when deeper analysis is required and when the available evidence is sufficient to make a well-informed investment decision.

Pay: £80,000.00-£91,000.00 per year
