Overview

Join us as a Freelance Barista and bring your passion for coffee and exceptional customer service to vibrant, dynamic environments. This flexible role offers the opportunity to work independently, develop your barista skills, and help create memorable coffee experiences. Please note that this is a freelance, ad hoc position with no guaranteed minimum hours. Work will be offered as and when the business requires support.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
Maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness in all food preparation areas
Engage with staff warmly, taking orders accurately and providing excellent service
Manage time effectively to handle busy periods smoothly while ensuring quality standards are met
Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and operated safely according to health guidelines

Qualifications

Prior experience as a barista or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for coffee culture is essential
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper hygiene standards
Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling and order processing
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods
Excellent serving skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that creates positive customer interactions
Basic food preparation skills and familiarity with handling kitchen equipment are advantageous
Reliable and self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a freelance capacity
