Data Scientist
Remuneration: £39,000 - £49,000 per annum dependent upon experience.
Contract Length: Permanent.
Hours: Full time – 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Location: Hybrid Working, with a minimum of one day a week in the Head Office located in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of Harrogate.

What does the role involve?
To support LINK’s strategic use of data by applying data science, statistical analysis and automation techniques to generate timely, accurate and actionable insight. The role will help develop LINK’s data science capability, improve the efficiency and quality of analysis, and support evidence-based decision making across the business, including work relating to financial inclusion, coordinating body responsibilities and spatial analytics.
· Collect, Clean and Prepare data from multiple sources for analysis.
· Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns.
· Support in the development of LINK’s data science capacity and incorporate into relevant business processes.
· Support the development of machine learning and statistical models.
· Provide timely, accurate and efficient analysis via reports and dashboards to the business and external stakeholders.
· Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data science work with organisational goals and overall data strategy.
· Provide data and insight which support the development of LINK’s financial inclusion and coordinating body work.
· Support Senior Spatial Analyst with Data Science requirements and spatial analytics tasks using ArcGis.
· Advise on appropriate improvements to data management and analysis, including soft-ware requirements, training requirements and internal resources.
· Maintain knowledge of industry best practice and seek to implement new solutions where relevant.
What will I need to know?
Experience
Essential
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a data science, analytics or similar analytical role.
· Experience collecting, cleaning, transforming and preparing data from multiple sources for analysis.
· Strong analytical skills, with experience using statistical methods, exploratory data analysis and data visualisation to identify trends, patterns and insights.
· Practical experience with analytical programming tools such as Python, R, SQL or equivalent data analysis software.
· Experience producing clear reports, dashboards and analysis for technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable
· Knowledge of spatial analysis or GIS tools, such as ArcGIS.
· Understanding of machine learning concepts and experience supporting the development, testing or application of predictive or statistical models.
· Ability to automate routine data tasks to improve efficiency, consistency and accuracy.

· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, sharing knowledge and contributing constructively to group discussions and problem solving.
