Technical Sales Advisor – Victron Energy & Electrical Systems

We are looking for a Technical Sales Advisor to join our team at Callidus Trade in Newton Abbot.
This role would be ideal for someone who has experience or a good basic understanding of 12V/24V DC vehicle electrics, electrical installations, solar, batteries, motorhomes, campervans or marine electrical systems.
You don't need to be a qualified electrician. More importantly, we're looking for someone who understands the basics of electrical systems, is technically minded, enjoys solving problems and is confident talking to customers.
The Role
You'll work with our trade and retail customers, helping them select and specify the correct equipment for their projects.
A large part of the role involves speaking with customers over the phone, by email and face-to-face, understanding what they're trying to achieve and helping design the right system.
You'll be working extensively with Victron Energy equipment, including inverter/chargers, solar MPPTs, lithium batteries, DC-DC chargers, monitoring equipment and associated electrical components.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Speaking with trade customers and installers
- Understanding customer requirements and helping specify complete systems
- Providing technical product advice
- Preparing quotations
- Helping customers choose the correct Victron equipment
- Advising on 12V, 24V and 48V systems
- Supporting motorhome, campervan, marine, solar and off-grid applications
- Providing basic technical support and troubleshooting
- Helping customers in our Newton Abbot showroom
- Working closely with our technical and sales teams
Who We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in any of the following areas:
- 12V vehicle electrics
- Motorhome or campervan electrical systems
- Auto electrical work
- Marine electrical systems
- Solar and battery systems
- Electrical installation
- Inverters and battery chargers
- Lithium battery systems
- Off-grid power systems
- Victron Energy equipment
Previous Victron experience would be a major advantage, but it isn't essential.
If you have a basic electrical understanding and the ability and enthusiasm to learn, we can provide further product training.
The Right Person
You'll need to be:
- Technically minded
- Comfortable speaking to customers
- Confident using a computer and preparing quotations
- Able to understand a customer's requirements and recommend a solution
- Practical and good at problem solving
- Willing to develop a strong understanding of Victron Energy products
- Comfortable working with both trade professionals and members of the public
This isn't a hard-pressure sales role. We're looking for someone who can understand the technical side, give customers good advice and turn their requirements into the right solution. Salary expectations are based on a basic and commission.

Callidus Trade specialises in Victron Energy systems, lithium battery storage, solar and off-grid power solutions.
We supply equipment throughout the UK and design and build systems ranging from smaller 12V vehicle and marine installations through to substantial off-grid residential and commercial systems.
We also build complete pre-wired Victron systems from our premises in Newton Abbot.
