Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to support our childcare team. This role involves working flexibly across various shifts to assist with the daily care and development of children within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for early childhood education and experience working with children, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all children in our care.

Safeguarding the welfare of children is our highest priority. All staff are expected to understand and follow safeguarding and child protection policies, act in the best interests of every child, and report any concerns appropriately.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, have satisfactory references and compliance with safer recruitment procedures.

Duties

Assist with the supervision and care of children aged from infancy to early school age, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and socialisation.
Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating nursery environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Engage with children through play, conversation, and educational activities to foster their emotional and cognitive development.
Support the management team in implementing nursery policies and procedures effectively.
Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance monitoring, and communication with parents or guardians.
Occasionally support with nursery outings or activities outside the premises.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to manage groups of children effectively and work well within a team.
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or equivalent are required.
A caring nature combined with excellent organisational skills to support a safe and nurturing environment.

Pay: £12.80 per hour
