About the Role
We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered business workflows that improve operational efficiency and automate repetitive processes.
This is a hands-on engineering role combining software development, workflow automation, AI integration, and business process optimisation. You will work closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI-powered solutions.
This role is ideal for developers with experience building AI applications, workflow automation, agent-based systems, or business process platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesAI Workflow Development
- Design and implement end-to-end AI-powered business workflows.
- Analyse business processes and translate operational requirements into automated solutions.
- Build intelligent workflows incorporating AI agents, automation logic, human review stages, and exception handling.
- Develop reusable workflow components and automation frameworks.
AI Integration
- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) including OpenAI GPT, Claude, and other AI services into business applications.
- Build AI agents, tools, and workflow capabilities using modern AI development platforms.
- Design prompt strategies, tool integrations, structured outputs, and validation mechanisms.
- Optimise AI workflow reliability, response quality, and operational performance.
Software Development
- Develop backend services using Python, Node.js, Java, or similar technologies.
- Build frontend interfaces using React, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develop REST APIs and integrate third-party services.
- Implement business logic, workflow orchestration, and data processing components.
Deployment & Operations
- Deploy AI applications into production environments.
- Support troubleshooting, monitoring, and continuous optimisation of deployed workflows.
- Produce technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and solution documentation.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Operations teams, and Software Engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
RequirementsEssential
- Experience developing software using at least one backend language such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
- Experience building frontend applications using React, Vue.js, or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and system integrations.
- Experience designing business workflows or automation processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Candidates must currently be based in the United Kingdom and have the legal right to work in the UK.
Desirable
Experience with one or more of the following:
- AI workflow platforms (Dify, Coze, LangFlow, Flowise, n8n)
- AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
- LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini)
- Prompt Engineering
- Function Calling / Tool Calling
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

Experience with OpenClaw or similar AI agent platforms would be advantageous.
