How you'll make a difference
Red One exists to make people safer — whether that's through world-class training, standby rescue, or emergency response. As an Operational Support Technician, you'll be the backbone that keeps those operations running. Without well-maintained equipment, accurate records, and reliable logistics, our teams can't deliver. Your work directly enables Red One's mission and keeps both our people and our clients safe.
What you'll be doing
Based primarily at Devonport Dockyard, you'll provide practical and administrative support across Red One's rescue, training, and operational delivery teams. Day to day this means keeping equipment available, serviceable, and accurately documented; managing site deliveries and collections; supporting facilities maintenance and events across Red One sites; and maintaining the compliance records and administrative systems that underpin everything we do. You will deliver and collect equipment to and from work sites as required, including transfers between sites where necessary. You'll be a key point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders, and you'll play an active role in identifying ways to improve how we work.
What we need from you
You'll be organised, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. You'll need to be a confident communicator, able to build effective relationships across teams, clients, and suppliers. Experience in a practical technician or support role is essential, and experience driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes is required. Desirable extras include knowledge of LOLER regulations, experience in industrial or high-risk environments, an LGV licence and IOSH qualification.
