Police Digital Service (PDS) is recruiting on behalf of the NPCC National Data & Analytics Office (NDAO) a dedicated national capability transforming data use in policing.
Deputy Director Technical Data and Analytics. Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months. Salary £85,000 per annum.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking function within policing which will shape the future of data and analytics in UK law enforcement and help to utilise policing data to better protect the public. The NDAO will ensure:

For the first time, UK policing will have a recognised, accredited approach to data and analytics, helping forces to work smarter and more effectively without compromising security or integrity.
The purpose of the role is to translate national strategy, policy intent and operational need into trusted, sustainable and scalable data and analytics capabilities for UK policing.
The role provides strategic leadership for the design, delivery, operation and adoption of national data, analytics and technology-enabled capabilities, ensuring they deliver measurable operational value whilst maintaining the highest standards of governance, security and public trust.

The role acts as a key interface between strategy and delivery, ensuring that national investments in technology, data and analytics translate into effective operational capabilities that support policing outcomes now and in the future.

Provide oversight of procurement, delivery, assurance and governance activities, ensuring risks, dependencies and assurance outcomes are managed effectively.

What you need to succeed in the role

Strong understanding of data, analytics, technology platforms and service delivery within complex organisational environments.

Knowledge of governance, assurance, information management, security and risk management principles.

Understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with delivering national-scale data and analytics capabilities.
Experience

Significant leadership experience delivering complex data, analytics or technology-enabled capabilities in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Proven track record of translating strategic objectives into successful operational outcomes.

Experience of leading delivery, assurance and governance activities within large-scale programmes, services or portfolios.

Experience of building effective relationships with senior stakeholders, partners and suppliers.

Working Arrangements
This is a remote role with some national travel required to attend meetings.
All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
