About the Role:
At Wagentristl Industrial Solutions Ltd, we help industrial businesses keep their operations moving through reliable equipment, materials, technical services, and supply solutions. As we continue to expand our procurement function, we are looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to take ownership of strategic purchasing activities and help strengthen our supplier network.
This is a hands-on senior specialist position for someone who understands industrial procurement, supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, and the importance of maintaining quality while controlling costs. You will work closely with operations, engineering, finance, logistics, and external suppliers to ensure the right products and services are sourced at the right value and delivered when needed.
You will be based at our Liverpool location, working with suppliers across the UK and supporting procurement requirements for our industrial operations.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our Liverpool team operates in a practical, collaborative environment where procurement works closely with engineering, operations, finance, and supply chain colleagues.
Commercial Responsibility:
You will have meaningful ownership of supplier relationships, purchasing decisions, cost analysis, and procurement improvements rather than simply processing purchase orders.
Industrial Exposure:
You will work across a range of industrial products, equipment, components, services, and operational requirements, giving you the opportunity to develop broad procurement experience.
Professional Growth:
We support continued development through relevant training, professional learning, supplier engagement, and exposure to increasingly complex procurement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement:
Manage sourcing activities for industrial materials, equipment, components, and services while balancing cost, quality, availability, and delivery requirements.
Supplier Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, evaluate new suppliers, and monitor supplier performance against agreed standards.
Commercial Negotiation:
Obtain competitive quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality or service.
Procurement Analysis:
Review purchasing data, supplier pricing, spending patterns, and market conditions to identify savings opportunities and improve procurement decisions.
Purchase Management:
Coordinate purchase orders and procurement activities from initial requirements through supplier confirmation, delivery, and resolution of any purchasing issues.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, operations, finance, logistics, and other internal teams to understand requirements and ensure procurement activities support business priorities.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve purchasing procedures, supplier performance, documentation, and procurement workflows.
What We Are Looking For
Experience:
5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, engineering, construction, facilities, or technical environments.
Procurement Knowledge:
Strong understanding of sourcing, supplier evaluation, purchase orders, quotations, contract terms, cost analysis, and supplier performance management.
Commercial Skills:
Confident negotiating with suppliers and evaluating commercial proposals with a strong understanding of value, quality, lead times, and total cost.
Analytical Ability:
Comfortable working with purchasing data, spreadsheets, supplier reports, budgets, and cost comparisons to support informed decisions.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, engineers, operations teams, finance colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Mindset:
You are commercially aware, organised, detail-oriented, and proactive. You can manage competing priorities while maintaining strong supplier relationships and keeping procurement activities moving.
Pay: £39,943.00-£52,035.00 per year
Work Location: In person
