Team Leader– £16.79 ph
Hours: Relief/Bank
Location: Mercury House, Riccarton Hub, Research Avenue North, Edinburgh, EH14 4AP
We are looking for a relief Team Leader in our weekend children’s services at Capability Scotland. The role will be to work alongside the team leader of the session to provide support for children and young people with additional support needs by providing fun, meaningful activities and supporting trips in the community.
You will be required to lead a small group of young people and staff during the session and work alongside the team leader to ensure all health and safety requirements are met.
We are looking for a minimum of 4 sessions per month from 9am – 2.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The service runs from the Craigmillar area in Edinburgh.
Candidates should have experience in a childcare setting and a relevant childcare/health and social care qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
The Team Leader will be responsible for the planning and delivery of each session, upkeep of personal plans for young people, meeting Care Inspectorate requirements and health and safety requirements of the building along with supporting a small staff team. Experience in a childcare setting is essential.
Candidates who have achieved an SVQ3/SVQ4 level qualification (Children and young people) and are looking to start their degree in childhood practice will also be considered.
You may be required to provide personal care for young people and must complete Child Protection and Emergency First Aid training within your initial 6 month probationary period which will be provided by Capability Scotland.
