Full job description

Role: Receptionist

Contract: Temporary

Salary: Weekday £12.71 and weekend £13.71, aligned with NHS Band 2/3 depending on experience

Shift Timings:

Monday to Friday 18:00-00:00

Saturday and Sunday 08:00-00:00

Location: Tamworth

We are a busy, patient-focused Primary Care Centre dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services to our community. Our team is committed to providing compassionate care and ensuring every patient feels valued and supported.

The Role

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organised Receptionist to join our front-of-house team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Greeting patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
Managing appointment bookings via telephone, online, and in person
Handling patient queries and directing them to the appropriate services
Maintaining accurate records and updating patient information systems
Supporting clinicians and administrative staff with day-to-day tasks
Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with NHS policies

About You

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
Confident in using IT systems (training provided for NHS software)
Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment
Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role is desirable but not essential
