About On-Site Energy
At On-Site Energy, we work with energy-intensive manufacturers to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions through on-site generation, energy efficiency and infrastructure upgrades. We design, build, own and operate energy assets within live industrial environments, partnering closely with our clients to deliver commercially viable, long-term solutions.
We are technology agnostic and data-led - assessing each site individually and integrating technologies such as CHP, solar PV, heat pumps and wider efficiency upgrades to deliver the strongest commercial outcome.
Our clients operate in high-demand, complex environments, where energy cost and resilience are critical. OSE’s internally developed asset management platform plays a key role - providing real-time visibility of asset performance, enabling remote diagnostics and control, and supporting site-wide energy optimisation.
The Role
We’re strengthening delivery at the intersection of controls, automation, and digital integration – working as part of a collaborative technical team, these roles bridge site-level automation and cloud-based platform integration; these roles sit across software, controls, and engineering, collaborating to connect, control, and optimise the performance of our on-site energy assets.
This roles sit across site-level automation and cloud-based platform integration, combining HMI design, PLC programming, and interfacing to Edge Compute, helping to strengthen the systems that connect our sites to the wider platform. You’ll be working to agreed priorities in an Agile/Scrum environment, providing clear progress updates via Azure DevOps and Teams.
We’re looking for an engineer with strong experience in one or more of the following areas, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

- Collaborate with the EC&I team, Energy Platform & Digital team, and site engineers to resolve issues quickly and keep projects on track
- Contribute to knowledge transfer, ensuring permanent team members are equipped to maintain and evolve solutions post-handover
- Support commissioning activities for new sites, collaborating closely with software developers, EC&I engineers, and project teams
- Integrate control systems with OSE’s asset management platform to enable advanced diagnostics, optimisation, and remote operation
- Identify and deliver improvements in automation, connectivity, and system performance, drawing on industry best practice
- This role will require some on-site work at client sites, particularly for commissioning activities
