Full job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and practical Factory Operative & Driver to join our production team.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of our factory. The role will involve a combination of general fabrication and production duties, quality checking finished products, preparing orders and delivering products to customers and sites.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment, able to adapt to changing priorities and take pride in producing and delivering a high-quality product.

Driving and deliveries will be a regular and important part of the role, alongside duties within the factory.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general fabrication and production duties as required.
Assist with the manufacture and assembly of aluminium windows, doors and other products.
Carry out quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet the required standards before dispatch.
Check products against production paperwork and specifications.
Identify and report any defects, damage or issues to the Production Manager.
Prepare, load and safely secure products for delivery.
Carry out customer and site deliveries in a professional and timely manner.
Handle products carefully to minimise the risk of damage during loading, transportation and unloading.
Complete delivery paperwork and obtain delivery confirmations where required.
Support the factory team with moving and organising materials and finished products.
Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements.
Work flexibly across different areas of the factory to support the wider production team.
Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Skills & Experience

Essential:

Full UK driving licence.
Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction or similar practical environment is preferred.
Practical and hands-on approach to work.
Good attention to detail and a focus on quality.
Reliable, punctual and organised.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically able to undertake manual handling and movement of products and materials.

Desirable:

Experience working with aluminium windows and doors.
Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
Experience in fabrication or assembly.
Knowledge of aluminium window and door systems.
Previous experience carrying out deliveries or working in a logistics role.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be reliable, practical and flexible, with a positive attitude and willingness to support the team wherever required.

They will take pride in their work, have a good eye for detail and understand the importance of delivering a quality product to the customer. The role requires someone who is equally comfortable working within the factory and getting behind the wheel to complete deliveries.

Working Relationships

The role will work closely with the Production Manager, Supervisors and wider factory team, as well as liaising with customers when carrying out deliveries.
