A growing multi-disciplinary surveying company providing land, underground utility and engineering survey services across the UK is looking for an experienced Survey CAD Technician to join its fully remote team.
You will work closely with surveyors and the processing team to turn survey data into accurate, professional drawings for a range of highways, infrastructure, construction, commercial and utility projects.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of surveying principles and survey data, alongside strong AutoCAD skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings from topographical, utility and measured building surveys.
- Process survey data and produce client-ready drawings in AutoCAD.
- Produce utility survey and PAS128 deliverables.
- Process data from total stations, GNSS and 3D laser scanners.
- Produce topographical plans, sections, elevations and as-built drawings.
- Work with point clouds and 3D survey data.
- Combine survey information with OS mapping, Land Registry and existing design information.
- Check drawings and survey data for accuracy.
- Liaise with surveyors to resolve queries and discrepancies.
- Work to project deadlines and agreed turnaround times.
- Help maintain and improve CAD standards, templates and processing workflows.
About You
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as a CAD Technician within land surveying, geomatics, civil engineering or a similar environment.
- Strong AutoCAD skills.
- Experience producing drawings from topographical and/or utility survey data.
- A good understanding of coordinates, levels, datums and survey drawing conventions.
- Experience with point clouds or laser scan data.
- Experience with utility surveys and PAS128 is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential errors in survey data.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while working remotely.
Experience with Civil 3D, Leica Cyclone, CloudCompare, AutoCAD Map 3D or similar software would be advantageous.
Fully Remote
This is a 100% remote UK-based position, with all necessary equipment and software provided.
You will work independently while maintaining close communication with the wider survey and processing team through established communication and project-management systems.
