Unlike many technology businesses, we operate primarily as a channel organisation, meaning we support a network of solution providers and technology partners who deliver projects to end customers. Our role is to provide the expertise, products, training and support needed to make those projects successful.
The Role
This is not a traditional sales role.
As an IoT Solutions Consultant Apprentice, your primary responsibility will be to work with customers and technology partners to understand what they are trying to achieve and recommend the most appropriate IoT solution.
You will act as a consultant, engaging with customers via video calls, email, Microsoft Teams, telephone and online messaging to identify their requirements.
By asking the right questions, you will determine which products, technologies and services are needed to create the best possible solution for the customer's objectives.
Once the solution has been identified, you will create quotations and manage opportunities through our CRM system from first enquiry through to successful order completion.
You'll become a trusted advisor to customers whilst developing expertise in one of the most exciting technology sectors in the world.
What You'll Be Doing
- Responding to inbound enquiries and partner referrals.
- Speaking with customers to understand their project requirements.
- Asking technical and commercial questions to identify the best solution.
- Recommending IoT products, sensors, gateways, connectivity and software platforms.
- Creating solution proposals and quotations.
- Registering and managing opportunities within our CRM system.
- Recording customer interactions, requirements and recommendations.
- Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to order placement.
- Liaising with manufacturers and technology partners.
- Building strong relationships with customers and solution integrators.
- Learning about emerging IoT technologies and industry trends.
- Working alongside experienced sales, technical and operations teams.
Please note: Technical support activities are handled by our dedicated support team and do not form part of this position.
Training & Development
No prior IoT experience is required.

- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).

- Interest in technology, engineering, electronics or IT.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- A-Level, BTEC or equivalent qualifications.
