The Role
This is a core engineering position. You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality web and mobile app-based cognitive testing and remote clinical assessment solutions for healthcare providers, academic partners, and related industries.
What You Will Be Doing
Software Design and Development
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality full-stack web and mobile applications for cognitive assessment and remote clinical testing
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python, JavaScript, HTML, and other relevant languages
- Collaborate with the development team on technical designs and implementation strategies
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for integration with other systems
- Implement responsive and accessible user interfaces for web and mobile platforms
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and knowledge sharing
Software Maintenance
- Learn, maintain, and improve existing software codebases as required by customer or company requirements
- Ensure software operability across various devices, browsers, and platforms
- Monitor software performance and implement optimizations as needed
- Respond efficiently to reported software maintenance and defect requests
- Maintain accurate version control and documentation of reported issues and remedial actions taken
- Implement bug fixes and enhancements promptly
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Write and execute unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests
- Identify and resolve software defects and security vulnerabilities
- Ensure that all code meets industry standards for security and data protection
- Apply best practices for test-driven development when appropriate
- Maintain test documentation and test coverage
Operational Support
- Configure and maintain development, testing, and production environments
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Implement Docker containers for consistent application deployment
- Provide technical support for production issues as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Professional Development
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
- Participate in team meetings and initiatives to support business growth
- Research and evaluate new technologies that could benefit the company
- Share knowledge and expertise with team members
- Propose innovative solutions to technical challenges
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience delivering high-quality full-stack web applications
- Experience with Django web framework
- Excellent knowledge of Python, HTML, and JavaScript
- Strong working knowledge of Git version control
- Experience with Docker containerization
- Familiarity with database design and management
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Clear communication skills and ability to document work effectively
- Experience with test-driven development methodologies
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
Desirable
- Knowledge of healthcare IT systems or cognitive assessment tools
- Understanding of accessibility requirements for web applications
- Experience with PostgreSQL database management
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in healthcare software (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
