About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Level 2 Support to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully office based role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated L2 Support Engineer to join their Support function in London. This role is ideal for a technically strong support engineer or junior developer with production exposure. You will act as a critical escalation point between L1 support and engineering teams, ensuring stability, performance and continuous improvement of trading and operational systems.

Responsibilities:

Provide second-line (L2) support for business-critical systems, triaging and resolving complex technical incidents
Manage and support Linux/Unix environments, including performance tuning and scripting
Develop and maintain Python scripts/tools to automate repetitive support tasks
Collaborate with engineering teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and release processes
Perform root cause analysis and produce post-incident reports

About You

Minimum of 5 years experience in Support/DevOps roles
Strong experience with Linux/Unix
Proficiency in Python scripting/development
Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and complex applications
Familiarity with:
- CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
- Version control (Git)
