Experienced Service Advisor – Front of House

£35,000–£40,000 per year, depending on experience | Full-time, 40 hours | Tuesday–Friday preferred

About us

We are a long-established, independent Bosch Car Service garage with over 35 years of experience serving our local customers.

We have a stable and experienced team, including technicians who have been with us for many years. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, honest advice and, most importantly, looking after our customers properly.

We are now looking for an experienced Service Advisor / Front of House professional to join our existing front-of-house team.

This is not simply a reception or booking role. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in the motor trade, good technical understanding and excellent customer-facing skills who can become a key member of our team.

The role

You will work closely with our technicians and existing front-of-house team to help ensure the smooth running of the workshop and provide an excellent experience for our customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

Dealing confidently and professionally with customers face-to-face and by telephone.
Booking vehicles in for MOTs, servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
Understanding technicians' findings and communicating repair requirements clearly to customers.
Preparing and explaining estimates.
Obtaining customer authorisation for additional work.
Keeping customers informed about the progress of their vehicles.
Liaising closely with technicians to keep work moving efficiently.
Managing workshop bookings and priorities.
Preparing invoices and dealing with payments.
Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally.
Maintaining accurate customer and vehicle records.
Helping ensure the front-of-house operation runs smoothly and efficiently.

About you

We are particularly interested in someone who combines automotive knowledge with excellent people skills.

You don't need to be a technician, but you should have a good understanding of how vehicles, servicing, diagnostics and repairs work and be comfortable discussing technical information with both technicians and customers.

You should also be:

Confident and professional with customers.
A good communicator and listener.
Organised and able to manage competing priorities.
Comfortable working in a busy workshop environment.
Commercially aware.
Calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.
Computer literate and comfortable learning new systems.
A genuine team player.
Someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar motor-trade role is highly desirable.
