We’re looking for a reliable, organised and proactive Warehouse Operative to join The Vegan Candy Man and take ownership of the day to day running of our warehouse.
This is a varied, hands on role covering everything from picking and packing customer orders to receiving deliveries, managing stock, maintaining food safety standards and keeping the warehouse clean, organised and running smoothly.
We’re looking for someone who is happy getting stuck into the physical side of warehouse work, but who is also confident using computers and taking responsibility for stock and warehouse administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick & pack customer orders
- Receive incoming stock deliveries and check them against purchase orders
- Book received stock into our inventory system
- Monitor stock levels and help ensure products are reordered when required
- Place stock orders with suppliers when needed
- Organise stock within the warehouse so products are easy to locate and rotate
- Carry out stock counts and investigate stock discrepancies
- Ensure stock is correctly rotated and best before dates are monitored
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well organised warehouse at all times
- Follow and maintain our food hygiene and food safety procedures
- Identify damaged, missing or incorrect stock and resolve issues where possible
- Prepare the warehouse for busy periods and ensure packing materials and supplies are available
- Help improve warehouse processes, organisation and efficiency
- Take general ownership of the warehouse and flag any issues that need attention
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable taking responsibility for their own workload
- Computer literate and confident learning new systems
- Comfortable working with stock management, orders and basic spreadsheets
- Able to work accurately when processing stock and customer orders
- Happy working in a fast paced environment, particularly during busy seasonal periods
- Physically able to carry out warehouse duties including lifting, moving stock and spending much of the day on your feet
- Someone who naturally keeps their working environment clean and organised
- Proactive and able to spot jobs that need doing without always needing to be asked
- Comfortable following food safety procedures and maintaining accurate records
- Willing to help out with other varied jobs within our small business.
Previous warehouse, stock management, ecommerce fulfilment or food handling experience would be an advantage, but isn’t essential for the right person.

The Vegan Candy Man is an online vegan confectionery retailer specialising in vegan sweets, chocolate, pick and mix and other treats.
Our warehouse handles everything from individual customer orders through to stock deliveries and busy seasonal periods such as Christmas and Easter.
We’re a small business, so this role suits somebody who enjoys having responsibility and variety rather than doing one repetitive warehouse task all day. You’ll play an important part in making sure orders leave us accurately and on time, stock is under control and the warehouse remains organised, clean and compliant.
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 27.5 per week
