Looking for a career in Anaesthetics within the theatre environment?
We are recruiting caring, enthusiastic and professional nurses to our Patient Care in Anaesthesia course
This six month course leads to a career as an anaesthetic Practitioner working alongside our anaesthetists to provide anaesthetic care during the peri-operative period
We have 39 operating theatres with plans for more
You will work across multiple areas including General / CEPOD, Orthopaedics, ENT / Max Fac, Vascular, Thoracic, Neuro and Cardiac
We provide care to adults and children of all ages
The team also works in X Ray, Cath Labs, CT and MRI scanners. We support our colleagues in ED dealing with Level One Trauma, we are an adult and paediatric Major Trauma Centre

What you will do:
The course is a blend of practical experience and academic learning on a university accredited programme
You will be supernumerary as you gain skills and knowledge working alongside experienced practitioners
We will provide you with a mentor who will support you throughout, working with you to help you achieve your competencies
You will have formal teaching on a variety of topics, both delivered at university and by experienced members of the anaesthetic team
Passing the core practical and theoretical components will enable you to fully join the team of anaesthetic practitioners working independently alongside our medical and other colleagues
What we are looking for:
You do not need any prior experience in anaesthetics, we do however expect you to have an understanding of the role and how you hope to fit into it
We are looking for nurses who can demonstrate the commitment to succeed at this demanding work based learning / academic course
As a team we cover the department 24 hours a day, working a variety of early, late and night shifts across the 7 day week, you will play your part in this
