Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Labourer to join our dynamic team on various building projects. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting skilled tradespeople and ensuring the smooth progress of construction activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the construction industry, working on diverse projects that may include roofing, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, and carpentry. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials.
- Support tradespeople such as roofers, plumbers, electricians, masons, and carpenters with their tasks.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
- Assist with the installation of roofing, plastering, masonry work, and other specialised tasks as required.
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to aid in fabrication and assembly processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by clearing debris and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.
- Support with site logistics including moving materials and equipment around the site.
- Perform general labouring duties such as digging, lifting heavy materials (up to 40kg), and assisting with scaffolding or formwork when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience or familiarity with construction activities is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and basic construction techniques is desirable.
- Experience in roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, plastering, fabrication, masonry or carpentry is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics or technical drawings is beneficial.
- Physically fit with good stamina to perform manual labour throughout the day.
- Strong team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various roles within the construction site environment.
