Job Summary

As a Barista, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the café, preparing high-quality coffee and beverages, serve customers with enthusiasm, and assist with food preparation and daily operations. You will help ensure the café is ready for customers each morning and provide friendly, efficient service throughout the day.

Responsibilities
- Opening the café and preparing the shop for the day's service
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, specialty beverages and serving menu items with precision and flair to a high standard.
- Taking customer orders and providing friendly, attentive service
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for transactions confidently, operating the till and processing cash and card payments.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming café environment
- Restocking and maintaining café supplies throughout the day
- Supporting the wider team with the smooth running of the café
- Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures, esuring all food safety standards are maintained to deliver high-quality products consistently. Knowledge of food safety practices and beverages preparation techniques enhances your versitility in the role
- Helping create a positive experience for every customer.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas throughout your shift
- Support team members during busy periods by multitasking effectively and managing time efficiently.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of barista experience. Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Experience working with a till and taking customer payments
- Good knowledge and passion of coffee preparation and espresso-based drinks
- A friendly, positive and professional attitude
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment
- Reliable, punctual and well presented
- A genuine passion for coffee and hospitality
- A positive team player with a willingness to learn and develop
- Comfortable taking responsibility for opening the café and getting it ready for service
Training & Development
Full training will be provided on our menu, products, systems and specific ways of working. We’re looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in barista work and customer service, but who is also eager to learn and develop with the business.
