FIRE & SECURITY ENGINEER
D Squared Electrical Services Ltd — Portsmouth, PO3 5QT
£35,000–£48,000 per year | Full-time | Permanent

About Us

D Squared Electrical Services Ltd delivers electrical, fire, and security solutions across commercial and industrial sectors. We've built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and safety, and following several major new contract wins in our Fire & Security division, we're looking for an experienced engineer to join the team. Ideally a lead engineer however training can be provided for the right candidate.

The Role

You'll work across a varied portfolio of sites carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive call-outs, and installations — keeping fire and security systems running safely and compliantly.

What You'll Be Doing

Planned preventative maintenance and reactive call-outs across fire and security systems
Diagnosing faults and delivering effective, compliant solutions
Completing remedial works and installations
Providing clear technical updates and feedback to customers
Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
On-call cover — approximately 1 week in every 3.

Systems You'll Work With

Fire Alarms: Advanced, Kentec, Toccare (training provided)
Intruder Detection: Orisec, Pyronix, Texecom
CCTV: HikVision, Qvis, Dahua
Access Control: HikVision, Paxton, Videx, Bell

What We're Looking For

At least 4 years' experience in fire and/or security engineering
Full, clean UK driving licence
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Good time management and logical fault-finding ability
Working knowledge of IP and IT networking

Nice to Have (Training Available Where Noted)

IPAF certification (training available)
Wireless fire systems experience — ideally Hyfire or Sygno-FI (training available)
SSSTS qualification (training available)
Asbestos awareness certification (training available)
AOV experience
