General Sales Manager

About the Role

As General Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading, inspiring and developing a successful sales team, including Business Managers, Sales Executives and support colleagues. You'll drive performance across both new and used car sales, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction while maximising profitability and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be actively involved in customer interactions, coaching your team to achieve outstanding results and creating a culture focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and motivating the sales team to achieve and exceed performance targets
Driving new and used vehicle sales alongside finance and insurance products
Coaching and developing colleagues through regular performance management and support
Managing sales campaigns and promotional activity to maximise opportunities
Ensuring all sales processes are compliant, ethical and customer-focused
Maintaining strong manufacturer and company standards
Creating a positive, high-performance culture that delivers long-term success

About You

We're looking for a proven automotive sales leader with a strong track record of delivering results.

You will be able to demonstrate:

Successful experience in a senior sales management role within the motor industry
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams
A proven ability to drive sales growth, profitability and operational performance
Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
A customer-first approach with high levels of integrity and professionalism
A passion for developing people and creating high-performing teams
