We are currently recruiting for a Full-time Shunter/Valeter/Cleaner/Fueller at Wilfreda Depot, and we are looking to hear from candidates who are positive, have a can-do attitude and have ambition to grow. We are looking for someone reliable and self-motivated who takes pride in their work. It’s a physically demanding role and you’ll need a strong work ethic. You will be a team player who can also carry out tasks independently. A PSV driving license will be needed
The Role
As a Bus & Coach Shunter, you will play an essential role in ensuring our fleet operates smoothly and efficiently. You will get involved with a variety of daily tasks such as cleaning, fuelling, washing & parking our vehicles on site. That could be just the start though, depending on your abilities and experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process the vehicles on their return to the depot.
- Moving and manoeuvre buses/coaches within the depot, following instructions from the Traffic Team and parking according to the parking plan.
- Maintaining overall cleanliness, including bus and facility cleaning, waste removal.
- Performing fuelling tasks.
- Toilet drops and water topping up
- Conducting visual checks for any damage, reporting issues, and ensuring all windows and doors are closed before buses enter the wash.
- Follow strict Health & Safety procedures and instructions.
- The role will also have additional site duties in line with General Service Operative (GSO)
Essential Requirements
- PSV Licence, Category D
- Delivering a timely, efficient, and courteous service
- Willingness and ability to work unsocial hours in line with the late shift.
- 15:00 - Midnight with statutory breaks
- Must be able to work without constant supervision
- Own transport preferable
- Reliability crucial
