Full job description

The Bookkeeper and Payroll Manager will maintain accurate financial records and oversee the company's payroll function within a transport and logistics business. Duties include recording financial transactions, reconciling bank accounts, preparing management accounts, processing purchase and sales invoices, managing credit control, preparing VAT returns, monitoring cash flow, and maintaining accounting records. The role is responsible for processing weekly and monthly payroll, calculating PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, statutory payments, and submitting HMRC Real Time Information returns. The post holder will maintain employee payroll records, produce financial and payroll reports, monitor transport-related operating costs, liaise with accountants, HMRC and pension providers, ensure compliance with financial, payroll and data protection legislation, support budgeting and forecasting, assist with year-end accounts, and recommend improvements to financial controls, payroll processes and operational efficiency.

Pay: £33,500.00-£36,000.00 per year
