Job Purpose
The Bridge Hall Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management and operation of The Bridge Hall and its associated facilities. The postholder will oversee venue bookings, support hirers and users, manage performances and events, coordinate marketing and ticketing activities, and ensure the smooth running of all venue operations.
Working closely with the Venue Programmer, Bridge Trust staff, volunteers, artists, promoters, and community organisations, the Hall Manager will play a key role in delivering a successful programme of events and activities while maintaining high standards of customer service, administration, and venue management.
Key Responsibilities
Venue and Booking Management
- Manage all bookings for The Bridge Hall, classrooms, meeting spaces, and associated facilities.
- Maintain and oversee the venue booking calendar, ensuring efficient and effective use of all spaces.
- Act as the primary point of contact for hirers, responding to enquiries and supporting users throughout the booking process.
- Ensure booking information is accurately recorded and communicated to relevant staff and volunteers.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with venue users, community groups, performers, and external organisations.
Event and Performance Management
- Undertake Duty Management responsibilities for performances, events, and activities taking place within the venue.
- Oversee the smooth running of events, ensuring a high-quality experience for audiences, performers, hirers, and venue users.
- Coordinate event logistics with performers, promoters, technicians, hirers, staff, and volunteers.
- Work closely with the Venue Programmer to ensure all booked events are successfully delivered, coordinating operational, technical, marketing, and administrative requirements to realise the programme effectively and provide a positive experience for artists, hirers, audiences, and venue users.
- Create and manage staffing rotas for stewards, technicians, and event support staff to ensure appropriate coverage for all performances and events.
- Brief stewards, technicians, volunteers, and event staff before performances and events, ensuring they are fully informed of event requirements, health and safety procedures, customer service expectations, and emergency protocols.
- Monitor event delivery and address operational issues as they arise.
- Ensure appropriate procedures and venue policies are followed during events and performances.
Box Office and Ticketing
- Set up performances, events, and activities on the TicketSource box office system.
- Monitor ticket sales and provide reports and information as required.
- Support customers with ticketing enquiries and resolve box office issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Liaise with promoters, performers, and hirers regarding ticketing arrangements and sales information.
Marketing and Promotion
- Promote events, performances, and venue activities through the venue website, Facebook pages, and other appropriate marketing channels.
- Maintain and update online event listings and venue information.
- Work with the Venue Programmer and event organisers to maximise attendance and audience engagement.
- Assist in developing and delivering marketing campaigns that support venue activity and community engagement.
Leadership and Team Coordination
- Lead regular team meetings and operational briefings.
- Liaise closely with Bridge Trust staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Liaise with concession management with regards to any security staff requirements, event details and requests form hirers.
- Coordinate and deploy stewarding, technical, and volunteer teams to support the successful delivery of performances and events.
- Provide clear direction and support to staff and volunteers during events, acting as the key operational contact and ensuring effective communication throughout.
- Support, motivate, and coordinate volunteers involved in venue activities and events.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused working environment.
Administration and Financial Processes
- Prepare and manage venue hire contracts, performance agreements, settlement sheets, and other event-related documentation.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for bookings, events, contracts, and financial transactions.
- Work closely with administration and finance staff to communicate information relating to venue users, hirers, performances, and financial arrangements.
- Support the preparation of operational reports and documentation as required.
- Assist with post-event settlements and financial reconciliation processes.
Compliance and Venue Operations
- Ensure the venue operates in accordance with health and safety requirements, licensing regulations, and organisational policies.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all users.
- Report maintenance issues and liaise with appropriate personnel or contractors to ensure facilities remain fit for purpose.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of venue operations and services.
Pay: From £33,750.00 per year
