Barvek & Bland is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team in Gainsborough. We manufacture high-quality precision-engineered components for a wide range of industries, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service.

The Role
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling as required.
- Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
- Make programme offsets and minor adjustments where necessary.
- Ensure all work meets Barvek & Bland's quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve production targets and delivery deadlines.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, Setter, or Operator.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges.
- A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
- Experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
- CNC programming experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- An engineering or manufacturing qualification, including an apprenticeship, is beneficial but not essential.
