Please note that this is a relief position

Working hours: As and when required (Between the hours of 08.30 - 17.00 Monday to Friday)

Additional salary information: Relief workers will receive 12.69% on top of their hourly rate to cover holiday pay.

The postholder will support the delivery of high-quality training programmes that enable trainees to achieve their individual goals and aspirations. Working under the guidance of the Training Programme Lead, they will contribute to training activities and deliver sessions based on individual learning support plans and personalised assessment tools. They will maintain an awareness of trainee referral pathways and funded placement requirements, ensuring training is delivered in line with contractual expectations and tailored to meet individual needs.

Key responsibilities:

A key aspect of the role is monitoring, assessing and reporting on trainee progress. The postholder will observe participation, encourage active engagement, and empower trainees to contribute to decisions about their learning and development. They will provide detailed feedback on progress towards agreed outcomes, identify potential barriers to achievement, and contribute recommendations to enhance existing support strategies.

The role requires effective collaboration with colleagues to ensure a consistent and informed approach to trainee support. The postholder will share relevant information, participate in team meetings where appropriate, and maintain strong communication to support positive outcomes for trainees. They will also be expected to undertake ongoing professional development and contribute flexibly to meeting the operational and contractual needs of the training centre.

The successful candidate:

Will be passionate about transforming lives through learning and will have experience working within a learning environment.
They will understand the challenges faced by adults with additional support needs and appreciate the importance of adapting training approaches to meet individual requirements.
Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to follow established procedures, maintain accurate records and utilise a range of ICT applications effectively.
An awareness of safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity, and data protection principles is required, together with a commitment to working in a way that reflects and promotes The Salvation Army's mission and the values of Hadleigh Farm Estate.
Experience of supporting adults with additional needs would be advantageous.
