Bristol Zoological Society, the conservation and education charity that runs and operates Bristol Zoo Project (previously Wild Place Project), higher education programmes and conservation projects across the world, is recruiting a veterinary nurse. We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse with knowledge and experience of nursing zoo, exotic pet, or wildlife species to join our veterinary team.

Duties will include all aspects of zoo veterinary nursing including:

Clinical work

Laboratory work

Record keeping

Maintaining equipment

Ordering supplies

Ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness

In addition, duties will include supervising and teaching final year veterinary students on rotation, including teaching them exotic pet husbandry.

A relevant qualification in zoo animal or exotic pet nursing and/or anaesthesia is desirable.
