We have a great opportunity for a Sheet Metal Worker / CNC Operator to join our small team.

JOB TITLE: Sheet Metal Worker / CNC Programmer
LOCATION: 1 Cliff Way, Portland, Dorset
HOURS: 37.5/week, Monday to Friday. Full time, Permanent.
Main Role and Responsibilities
- Setup and operation of the CNC Brake Press (training provided) including part operations, tool setup, machine processes, software control and part database management.
- Perform internal maintenance tasks on the Brake Press as specified by check sheets and routine maintenance plans.
- Consideration for health and safety at all times when using the CNC Brake Press and being aware of the working environment and health and safety in the surrounding area to this machine.
- Reporting of any issues with the Brake Press to the sheet metal engineer or production manager.
- Setup and operation of sheet metal workshop machinery (training provided).
- Provide basic training to production operators in use of non-CNC machinery.
- Successfully manufacture items to required specifications and known timescales.
- Accountable for ensuring all work and tasks carried out are completed to the highest quality standard.
- Working towards production schedules to meet deadlines and targets as instructed.
- Follow and maintain high standards of Health and Safety as per specific tasks and instructions and to comply with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
- Working within a small team, it is critical that each team member has a strong work ethic and works well with others.
- Ability to undertake tasks as instructed across workshop production including raw material handling, deburring, part assembly, finishing operations and workshop housekeeping.
- Willingness to continuously develop own skills to manage and maintain a high quality standard of products to our end customers.
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management.
Skills / Competencies:
- Very good understanding of production work.
- Ability to setup and operate CNC machinery and understand CNC operating software.
- Ability to setup and use sheet metal and workshop tooling.
- Competently able to perform hands on/manual tasks.
- Ability to read, understand and follow production documents, product layouts and technical drawings.
- Competent numeracy and literacy skills.
- Able to follow instructions closely when given.
- Able to work on own initiative.
- Good team working skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,150.00 per year
