Commis Chef / Chef de Partie
Within a few miles of Lowestoft/Gorleston/Great Yarmouth
We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef or Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at our independent, family-run village pub and restaurant.
We are a busy, food-led country pub with a strong focus on freshly prepared, good-quality food served in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a small team, takes pride in what they do and is happy to get stuck in.
We are happy to consider someone earlier in their career looking to develop as a Commis Chef, as well as a more experienced Chef de Partie who can confidently run a section.
The Role
· Working alongside our existing kitchen team, your responsibilities will include:
· Preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard
· Running or assisting on your designated section
· Completing daily food preparation and mise en place
· Following recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
· Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
· Following food safety, allergen and HACCP procedures
· Correctly storing, labelling and rotating food
· Helping to minimise food waste and control portion sizes
· Assisting with deliveries and stock rotation
· Keeping your section clean, organised and ready for service
· Working calmly and efficiently during busy services
· Supporting other members of the kitchen team when required
· Taking pride in the food leaving the kitchen
As a small, family-run business, teamwork is particularly important to us. Everyone is expected to help each other and contribute to keeping the kitchen running smoothly.
What we're looking for
Ideally you will have previous experience working in a pub, restaurant or similar professional kitchen, although we are also interested in enthusiastic developing chefs with the right attitude.
Someone who is reliable and punctual, hard-working with a positive attitude, comfortable working as part of a small team, able to work under pressure during busy services, passionate about producing good-quality food, organised and able to keep a clean workstation, willing to learn and develop your skills & flexible regarding shifts, including evenings and weekends.
You must have your own reliable transport due to our village location and limited public transport.

Hours
Hours can be discussed depending on experience and availability. The role will include a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts, including split shifts

Pay: £25,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
