We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Production Coordinator to join our team at SWMF in Exeter. Acting as the central hub of our manufacturing operation, you will play a vital role in ensuring production activities run smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with multiple departments, and driving tasks through to completion. While experience in production planning or coordination is advantageous, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing
As Production Coordinator, you will:
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Coordinate production schedules to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor work in progress and identify potential delays before they impact delivery.
- Communicate priorities clearly to production teams.
- Support capacity planning and resource allocation activities.
Production Control & Coordination
- Track work orders throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain accurate production data within the company's MRP system.
- Liaise daily with Production, Quality, Engineering, Customer Services, Stores, and Planning teams.
- Ensure actions and commitments are completed within agreed timescales.
- Coordinate time-sensitive post-plating and inter-facility processing activities.
Communication & Problem Resolution
- Lead daily status discussions across departments.
- Escalate performance or workflow issues to relevant managers when required.
- Work with Value Stream Managers and the Production Manager to resolve operational challenges.
- Help maintain workflow continuity and minimise disruption.
Continuous Improvement
- Support operational improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Follow company Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
