Full job description

This role is all about using your practical skills and attention to detail to look after a place that people love. We're looking for a Facilities Assistant at Hanbury Hall to help keep the whole place in good condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit.

Hours: You'll work 15 hours per week. You'll typically work Fridays and Saturdays, 8:00am - 4:00pm. Please note that your working days and hours may vary occasionally to meet the needs of the business.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here:You'll be part of the busy facilities team, a small team of 4 other staff and volunteers. Shifts are spread to cover each day throughout the week, and whilst on duty you may be the only one from your department on site depending on timings and overlap so you'll be working in a customer facing role and independently as required.

What you'll be doing:You’ll help with the day-to-day presentation of the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces. You’ll be turning your hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor bits of maintenance, making sure that all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries.

Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter-picking, both inside and outdoors. form a core part of this role. You’ll be aiming for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after, and this includes speaking to people as they visit and helping them with any queries. You might also get involved with general maintenance work and helping other teams if they need extra support.
