Job Summary

Abu Bakr Boys School is an independent Islamic secondary school dedicated to delivering academic excellence within a nurturing Islamic environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inspiring students and making science engaging, relevant, and accessible.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Teach one or more of the science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).
Create a positive, stimulating, and well-managed learning environment.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
Provide constructive feedback to support academic progress.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.
Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Uphold the Islamic ethos and values of the school.

Skills

Please note: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE is not required for this role. We value relevant experience, subject expertise, and the ability to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons.

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience (school, college, tuition centre, or similar).
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
The ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire young people.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
A willingness to contribute positively to the wider school community.
