Full job description

Join our innovative team as an Analytical Laboratory Technician in our hydrometallurgical research lab!

In this dynamic role, you'll harness your expertise in chemical analysis and hands-on laboratory techniques, utilising Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). Your contributions will be vital in delivering accurate and reliable analytical results that support groundbreaking research and development efforts. What You’ll Do:

Chemical Analysis:

Conduct chemical analysis using ICP-OES to determine elemental composition in various samples.
Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of ICP-OES equipment.
Interpret and analyse data, troubleshooting any discrepancies in results.

X-ray Diffraction (XRD):

Perform XRD analyses to identify and characterize crystalline structures in materials.
Maintain and troubleshoot XRD equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with research teams to provide valuable insights into material properties.

Laboratory Techniques:

Prepare and handle samples for analysis according to established protocols.
Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Execute various laboratory techniques with precision and attention to detail.
Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve any quality issues.

What You’ll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field that fuels your passion for discovery.
Hands-on experience with ICP-OES and/or XRD instrumentation—your expertise will be key in our innovative projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle challenges and uncover insights.
A solid understanding of laboratory safety protocols and best practices to ensure a secure working environment.
Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to foster collaboration and drive success.
The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently—your proactive approach will shine!
Previous experience in a research or industrial laboratory setting is desirable
