Our Knowledge Exchange and Research Institutes (KERIs) bring our world-class research and knowledge exchange to the forefront, harnessing our expertise to address existing and emerging issues across disciplines.

We work closely with communities, industry, and global partners to turn innovative ideas into practical solutions that improve wellbeing and shape policy and practice worldwide.

This is a fixed term post in NMR to support ongoing contract research with a commercial external organisation in complex mixture analysis, including interaction characterisation and quantitation.

The Post holder will be working on one or more particular NMR research projects, supporting the Program Coordinator Prof Adam Le Gresley and postdoctoral team. Activities will include conducting sample preparation, tests and/or experiments, collating data/recording the results, undertaking analysis, conducting literature reviews. The Post holder will help to prepare research work for publication/output on their own or in collaboration with colleagues as directed by the research leader. Active participation in collaborative decision-making with colleagues on research challenges within the area of expertise is expected. Understanding of heteronuclear qNMR techniques and DOSY NMR is essential. The work undertaken will have a direct or indirect impact on our institution development and strategy research positioning.

The Person

You will normally be at the latter stage of your PhD/have recently completed your PhD or you may hold a Masters, with some research experience relevant to role.

You will have Deep knowledge of how to use and implement NMR techniques, including DOSY, HSQC and heteronuclear qNMR.
You will have demonstrated effective capacity to share information on new developments in research approaches to assist the team and have some experience in supporting the creation of research publications.

The Faculty

The Faculty offers wide ranging practice-based education and training programmes across nursing, health science, midwifery, social care and teaching which are informed by high quality and impactful research.

We have a successful track record in public and service user engagement and developing knowledge transfer partnerships and other enterprise activities.

The Faculty’s professional administration and support teams work together to ensure business and support services are effective, efficient and sustainable in meeting the needs of our students, staff, stakeholders and areas of work.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 2 months with a starting salary of £39,407 per annum.
