The Role
9-Month Fixed-Term Contract – Shift working is required to meet the operational needs of the business.
To be responsible for the efficient running of contracts on site, including Safety, Quality, Contract Performance Monitoring, and reporting progress against targets. Ensuring compliance with project, company, and legal requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
Ensure that the project has clear deliverables through handover meetings with process team (estimating, design, commercial, procurement, quality, plant and operations) and ensure monitoring/compliance through the use of KPI’s
Clear understanding of the contract and awareness of the contractual implications of Early Warnings, Notice to Compensation event & Compensation Event
Manage and mentor direct reporting Site Engineers, reviewing all their works against the project requirements.
Prepare and collate contract documentation and ensure submission to the customer in advance of the works.
Ensure all approvals are obtained in full prior to mobilisation to site
Prepare site documentation and communicate deliverables to the site supervisor.
Raise on time and ahead of the works indent/requisition in line with the needs of the project
Attend and review Start of Shift briefings, Ensure a visible presence on site during the working day.
Ensure all site documentation presented is comprehensive, neat and tidy.
Review site records on a weekly basis to ensure compliance with deliverables and the contract
Ensure the works are delivery as per the Inspections and Test Plans (ITPs) and keep quality records up to date for Client submission
Responsible for completion of redline drawings as per Client specification
Support Commercial Department and Construction Manager in gathering costing data and preparing month end reports.
Monitor the project performance on a daily basis with the project site team, ensuring that all actions/risks are closed out in a timely manner to maximise margins, reduce costs, maximise income and reduce risk. Report on project performance daily to the Construction Manager
Demonstrate effective HSE and sustainability leadership
Input into the financial performance on a monthly basis and where applicable assist with the revision of the weekly forecast.
Support the Construction Manager with management of the project purchases/costs.
Work closely with the whole process team (to include operations, preconstruction, commercial, quality, planning, plant, and design), to ensure an effective and efficient project delivery.
Prepare and issue 3 Week Look Ahead programmes, assist the planner with maintaining the contract programme.
Identify, raise and track Non-Conformance Reports.
Comply with BSL and Project Safety, Quality & Environment requirements
What We’re Looking For
The role requires substantial experience in piling and ground engineering operations, marine works and design. Individuals must possess a recognised qualification or be working towards a profession qualification (MICE or MIStructE) and hold a valid CSCS card.
The role requires a capable person-manager, able to develop and coach teams, who is able to address HR issues promptly and robustly. The individual will be both focussed and thorough and have the gravitas and professional credibility to advise senior management when something needs immediate redress together with the tenacity and drive to ensure that the necessary action is taken.
The individual needs to be capable of communicating ideas and concepts effectively to both their own team and external, particularly operational parties. The role requires sound presentational skills and the capability to originate and develop new and innovative processes across the company.
The individual needs to be able to set, deliver and measure clear targets, must have good commercial acumen and a working knowledge of contracts.
Additional:
Computer Literate including good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Project.
CAD skill will be beneficial.
