Head Chef

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum + tips
Location: Alba at Newmachar Golf Club, Aberdeen
Hours: 45 hours per week

Lead the kitchen at one of Aberdeenshire's most exciting Golf Courses.

Alba is a modern Scottish bar and restaurant located within Newmachar Golf Club. We champion fresh, locally sourced produce and pride ourselves on delivering high-quality Scottish food in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

We're looking for an ambitious Head Chef to take ownership of our kitchen, shape our menus and lead the next stage of Alba's growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step into a leadership role with genuine creative freedom, while enjoying an outstanding work-life balance with fixed days off and early evening finishes.

The Role

As Head Chef, you'll take full responsibility for the culinary operation, including:

Designing and developing seasonal Scottish menus
Leading and inspiring the kitchen team
Recruiting, training and developing chefs
Preparing and delivering consistently high-quality dishes using fresh ingredients
Managing food costs and achieving gross profit targets
Ordering, stock control and supplier management
Maintaining the highest standards of food safety and HACCP compliance
Driving quality, consistency and continuous improvement throughout the kitchen

About You

You'll be passionate about Scottish food and eager to put your own stamp on an already well-established venue.

Ideally you'll have:

At least two years' experience as a Sous Chef or above
A proven track record of delivering high-quality fresh food
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent organisational and communication abilities
Experience managing stock, ordering and food cost control
A solid understanding of HACCP and food safety legislation
Creativity, passion and the drive to continually evolve the menu
