At Sodexo, we’re passionate about our people. We know that our teams are the key to delivering exceptional service and creating meaningful experiences for our clients, customers, and employees.
We are looking for a proactive and organised Assistant Facilities Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality facilities services across a busy and complex site.
Working closely with the General Services Manager, you will act as a key support function and a secondary point of contact for site operations, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day delivery of soft services including cleaning, catering, and security.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working within a facilities management organisation or outsourced FM environment who is looking to develop their career further. You will have exposure to managing service delivery, supporting operational teams, coordinating suppliers, and working closely with clients to maintain high standards across site.
Experience within a GMP, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or highly regulated facilities environment would be highly desirable, as the successful candidate will support service delivery within a compliance-focused setting where quality, safety, and attention to detail are critical.
The post holder will also support the General Services Manager and provide cover during periods of absence.
Key responsibilities:
-
Support the General Services Manager with the day-to-day delivery of site services, ensuring high operational standards across cleaning, catering, and security
-
Coordinate service teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure delivery meets contractual, compliance, and client requirements
-
Act as a key point of contact for client queries, supporting communication and effective issue resolution
-
Manage operational administration including work orders, reporting, invoicing, purchase orders, payroll support, and month-end activities
-
Support cost control, budget tracking, and financial processes across site operations
-
Maintain accurate compliance records including training, employee documentation, health & safety, hygiene, fire safety, and COSHH records
-
Support workforce planning, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and team development activities
-
Assist the General Services Manager during periods of absence and deputise when required
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the delivery of excellent service standards across the site
What we're looking for:
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and passionate about delivering excellent service. You will ideally have:
-
Previous experience working within a facilities management company, or similar service-led environment
-
Experience supporting the delivery of soft services including cleaning, catering, security, or related FM operations
-
Experience working within a GMP, pharmaceutical, laboratory, manufacturing, or other regulated environment would be advantageous
-
Experience supporting teams and coordinating day-to-day activities
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
-
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
-
A customer-focused approach with the ability to build positive working relationships
-
Experience working within a compliance-driven environment
