Job description
About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operational Planning Officer to join our Resource Management Unit, a team that plays a vital role in supporting daily policing across Lincolnshire. This is a fast-paced and rewarding position where you will ensure police officers and staff are deployed effectively to meet operational demand, major incidents, special events, and mutual aid commitments while maintaining appropriate staffing levels and budget considerations.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:
Plan and manage duty rosters to ensure adequate police cover across the force.
Coordinate staffing resources, including managing absences such as sickness, training, and court commitments.
Allocate overtime and resources in line with operational needs and budget requirements.
Support the policing of major events, incidents, protests, and mutual aid operations by ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.
Work closely with senior leaders, operational teams, and Learning & Development colleagues to balance staffing requirements and training commitments.
Maintain accurate records using workforce management systems and provide workforce data to support strategic decision-making.
Help respond to changing operational demands by monitoring staffing levels and resolving resourcing challenges.
