Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform for Bupa Dental UK. This role ensures the platform is secure, reliable, and effectively supports campaign delivery, customer communications, and marketing performance across the business.
Working within an Agile environment, the Administrator will configure and support Marketing Cloud solutions, troubleshoot issues, improve platform adoption, and help the business deliver timely, compliant, and effective customer journeys.
This role is best suited to someone who combines strong platform administration skills with a practical understanding of campaign operations, data quality, segmentation, and customer engagement.
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will have:
strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud administration and configuration
experience managing users, roles, business units, permissions, and platform governance
solid knowledge of subscriber data, contact models, segmentation, and data extensions
the ability to support email, SMS, and journey-based communications
good understanding of data quality, consent, and compliance requirements for customer marketing
experience troubleshooting send issues, automation failures, and data flow problems
the ability to translate business and campaign requirements into scalable platform solutions
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will be able to:
administer Marketing Cloud setup, configuration, and day-to-day platform operations
manage users, roles, permissions, and business unit access
build and maintain data extensions, filtered data extensions, and audience segmentation
support automations, imports, extracts, and scheduled processes in Automation Studio
configure and maintain journeys in Journey Builder
support email build, content management, personalisation, and send processes
monitor platform health and resolve campaign, data, and delivery-related issues
work with stakeholders to improve processes, governance, and campaign effectiveness
maintain platform documentation, standards, and operating procedures
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will:
provide excellent support to marketing users and campaign teams
ensure campaigns and customer data are managed in line with governance and compliance requirements
work closely with internal stakeholders to support campaign planning and execution
proactively identify opportunities to improve automation, segmentation, and user experience
support testing, release activity, and change control processes
stay current with Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities and release updates
Essential:
hands-on experience administering Salesforce Marketing Cloud
user setup, access control, and business unit administration
Automation Studio experience, including imports, extracts, queries, and scheduled automations
Journey Builder administration and support
data extension management, segmentation, and subscriber data handling
email operations knowledge, including send setup, deliverability awareness, and troubleshooting
understanding of consent, preference management, and data governance
experience documenting processes, support procedures, and platform standards
strong stakeholder communication and end-user support skills
Desirable:
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator Certification
experience with Email Studio, Contact Builder, and Mobile Studio
working knowledge of SQL for Marketing Cloud data management and troubleshooting
experience integrating Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM or other enterprise platforms
understanding of AMPscript or SSJS for troubleshooting and personalisation support
experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, dental, or insurance
knowledge of customer lifecycle marketing and campaign performance reporting
