The Role:
NMITE is seeking a passionate and dedicated Student Services Advisor, with a focus on Disability & Inclusion, to join our Student Services Team. This is a part-time role (32 hours a week, 4 days) based in person across our Blackfriars and Skylon campuses in Hereford.
As part of our Student Services Team, you will play a key role in supporting students by providing a high-quality support service from induction to graduation. You will deliver an inclusive and student-centred service supporting students, particularly those Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) and neurodiversity, to maximise student retention, enhance the student experience and promote student success, both personally and professionally.
The Job:
- Be a visible presence for students, responding effectively to enquiries and providing a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment.
- Manage a caseload of students, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
- Assess student support needs and coordinate appropriate interventions and referrals.
- Work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues to provide holistic student support.
- Develop and deliver information, workshops, campaigns and events that enhance the student experience.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across the NMITE community.
- Contribute to student engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives.
- Participate in occasional evening and weekend activities to support recruitment, transition and student engagement events.
- Actively contribute to the ongoing development of Student Services.

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- At least grade C in English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent
- Minimum Level 3 qualification and evidence of continued professional development in areas related to Student Support, and or disability and neurodiverse conditions
- Experience of working with people with a range of Specific Learning Differences/neurodiversity
- Relevant experience of providing effective student support in within a FE or HE education setting
- Proven ability to act as an effective member of a team, with the skills to effectively engage others beyond the confines of the departmental boundaries.
Desirable:
- Experience of developing and delivering promotional activities and campaigns
- Additional qualifications or evidence of professional development related to wider areas of student support
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Disabled Students Allowance process
- Ability to screen for neurodiverse conditions and make appropriate referrals/signposting

Our Offer: We offer a competitive salary, with a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) salary range of £28,645 - £31,919 (£22,916 -£25,536 on 0.8), depending on the number of hours worked, and benefits package including:
