Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Supervisor/Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities across various educational settings. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and students to ensure a positive learning environment, providing assistance tailored to individual needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about education, special needs support, and mentoring, with a focus on fostering inclusive and engaging learning experiences. Duties

Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and organised activities to maintain a safe and disciplined environment
Assist teachers with lesson preparation and resource organisation
Support students with special educational needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities
Provide one-to-one or small group tutoring in core subjects such as literacy, numeracy, or creative writing
Mentor students to develop their social skills, confidence, and independence
Implement personalised support plans for students requiring additional assistance
Foster positive behaviour and encourage student engagement through creative and inclusive teaching methods
Support students with behavioural challenges by applying effective communication and mentoring techniques
Contribute to the development of customised learning activities that cater to diverse learning styles

Skills

Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs or disabilities
Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or other behavioural challenges
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
Creative writing skills to assist in developing engaging educational content and activities
Experience in tutoring or mentoring students to improve academic performance and personal development
Organised and proactive approach to supporting classroom routines and behaviour management
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in fostering inclusive education environments
