Full job description

Blargoans Limited is offering an exciting opportunity for a Business and Operations Apprentice to join our friendly and hardworking team. This varied role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and keen to learn how our businesses operate, while gaining practical experience across both Blargoans Ltd and Northern Sands Hotel.

What you will gain

You will receive training, support, and practical experience in areas including:

Supporting the office team with a wide range of daily business activities
Welcoming visitors and carrying out general reception duties
Archiving, filing, and maintaining accurate documentation and records
Developing confidence using microsoft office and sage systems
Purchasing materials from suppliers to meet customer requirements
Assisting the procurement team with departmental activities and reporting
Receiving, checking, and processing deliveries
Supporting general yard duties, including cleaning and keeping work areas safe and tidy
Spending time in both the office and yard to build knowledge across the business
Maintaining document files for departmental and audit purposes
Completing tasks accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard
Responding to queries promptly and professionally
Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Working towards recognised Modern apprentice SVQ while gaining real workplace experience

About you

A positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn
Reliability, commitment, and a strong work ethic
The ability to follow instructions and use your own initiative
An interest in developing practical business and operational skills

Rate of pay: Apprenticeship rate to be agreed.

No two days will be the same. You will work across both the main office and yard, giving you a varied mix of office-based administration and practical operational experience.

Due to the location, a driving licence would be advantageous; however there are bus connections to Dunnet. If you are enthusiastic, eager to learn, and ready to begin your career with a local business, we would be delighted to hear from you.
